What is an issue SE2 has worked on that really got you fired up, and why?
Tobacco remains a defining global health issue. We’ve made so much progress but there is so much more to do. Tobacco still kills a half a million Americans a year and new threats like youth vaping threaten to erase the progress we’ve made. How can we rest when this epidemic continues to take so many lives?
Which SE2 value resonates most with you?
Going all in! It’s the only way to go.
When I’m not at the office, you can find me ______.
Asleep. (Going all in is exhausting.)

Journalist in recovery chases new communications challenges
I bring to SE2 a recovering journalist’s talent for creating compelling content as well as strategic insight and instincts honed over 30 years in the communications and marketing sector.
I began my career a newspaper reporter in Washington, D.C., Hong Kong and Denver before co-founding SE2 in 1998.
SE2 feels like a newsroom because it’s full of smart, motivated communicators waist deep in the important issues of the day. I get satisfaction knowing that we’ve played an important and positive role in key events.
An agency like ours is only as good as its people, and I am proud of our diverse team of uniquely talented professionals. We keep things lively and fun, but we also know that clients put tremendous trust in us because their credibility and reputation are so important. We all take that responsibility very seriously.
My wife and I have blended our families, including four children (all Denver Public Schools students or alumni), two dogs and cat. (It can be noisy on Zoom calls.)
