Job Opening: Accounting Manager

SE2 currently has an opening for an accounting manager. This is a full-time position that requires living and working in the metro Denver area. SE2 has a hybrid work-from-home/work-from-office work week. This hands-on position reports to and partners with the Chief Financial Officer to drive SE2’s accounting and finance functions and lead the development of the company’s financial infrastructure and processes to support our scaling business. Primary responsibilities include monthly close and financial statement preparation; balance sheet reconciliation; technical accounting guidance and interpretation; supporting all accounting and treasury operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and cash management; payroll and regulatory filings; and working closely with the operations teams to drive process and systems improvements and develop, maintain, and administer policies and procedures. Requirements include but are not limited to:

  • 8+ years of financial accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting/business
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures
  • CPA, CMA or CGMA highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and concepts
  • Project accounting experience including working with government contracts
  • Experience with Workamajig project management and accounting software preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise with Excel including experience using analytical functions such as VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Charting
  • Knowledge and experience designing, building, and implementing policies, procedures, and sound systems of internal control
  • Experience preparing and/or managing the month-end/year-end close process
  • Superb attention to detail and accuracy
  • Leadership and management skills including the ability to manage personnel and projects while utilizing a broad range of company resources in an efficient manner

The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000. Benefits include but are not limited to hybrid work-from-home/work-from-office work week; PTO; medical, dental and vision insurance; Flexible Spending Account; short-term and long-term disability; group term life insurance; 401k with employer match; and paid time off for volunteering.
